Two White Officers Cleared of Profiling Tyler Perry in Southwest Atlanta

Atlanta Police have cleared the officers of any wrongdoing in the case.

CNN has reported that two officers that were under investigation for possibly profiling Actor and Director Tyler Perry, have been cleared of any possible wrongdoing.

The incident occurred in February of this year when Tyler Perry was pulled over in Southwest Atlanta after leaving his studio near Greenbriar Mall.  Mr. Perry admits to making an illegal turn, but says he was pulled over and put into a hostile situation with the 2 officers.  One officer even supposedly reached into his car to make him turn off his engine.

The 2 officers claimed that they never saw the color of the man that they were stopping.  Officers said that they were looking for stolen car suspects, and they believed the car that Mr. Perry was driving was one of the cars they were looking for.  They have both said that the car had tinted windows, and it would have been hard to see anyone inside.

Tyler Perry has yet to comment on the new finding, but CNN reports that an internal affairs officer has said that the traffic stop was justified, lawful, and proper.

I'm tired of black people crying "racial profiling" every time they are stopped. I was stopped by a white cop and treated very aggressively and offensively and I am white. So stop you're complaining. And any threat that a black male may feel while "driving black" pales in comparison to the threat and fear that women feel in a variety of situations. But it's politically correct to jump on the bandwagon of black male pathos while everyone shrugs their collective shoulder over women's inability to pursue safe solitary adventures. Tyler Perry is a talent-less no nothing and I can see two white men not recognizing him from a hole in the wall. Only black people support him.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not buying N.G. being white. I just don't believe that post. It is as if someone is trying to stir a hornets nest by throwing rocks. It is too inflammatory to be real. The post by N.G. throws up several red flags. First, there is the qualifying statement of being treated aggressively and offensively and being white. Why qualify your comment if it has merit? Second, if you can correctly use the term 'pathos', you should certainly recognize the correct use of 'your' versus 'you're' . Another red flag is the term 'driving black'. Just doesn't fit in with the rest of the statement especially when N.G. goes on to offer the demeaning remarks about Tyler Perry. Then there is the curious use of 'black male' in repetition. Along with the diatribe on women not being able to feel safe, the heavy emphasis on 'black male' versus 'black men', especially when compared to the term 'white men' used later in the post, just doesn't add up. Man, just not buying it N.G. You are either white and neither smart or creative, or you are not white and not creative or smart. Either way, there are some commonalities there. In the meantime, stop throwing rocks. Have you even finished your homework? Weekends don't last forever and you will definitely need a good education if you want to be somebody in this world. Mr. Perry doesn't hire dummies.

Do a illegal turn and if there are cops around and see what happens, Perry was in the wrong bottom line all the color, type car is all BS for the last 4 years we have had enough excuse's and blame responsibility should be the new matra for going into the new year.

Apparently its some folks on here can't speak on this situation because they wouldnt know what the average black person experience and the strugle they go through in life. Tyler Perry was in the wrong when he made the illegal left turn and perhaps he let his status get to his head and possibly excalated the situation himself. But not to say Racial Profiling doesn't exist. When I use to live in Cobb County about 14 years ago, it was a predominantly white area. I had a 2nd shift job getting off at midnight and just trying to get home. A police car would het behind me at a traffic stop and follows me for 5 or 6 miles and then I get pulled you over for no reason over than he thinks your driving too slow like 5 miles under the speed limit. And question me why am I out this time of night, why am I driving slow, and have I been drinking. I'm like. "Really, you pull me over for driving 5 miles under the speed limit". Then steadily shine the flashlight all in my car windows looking for something. Always its atleast 3 or 4 police cars pull up after they stop me. Then they get a attitude when you ask them why they pull you over. Keep in mind I never got in trouble with the law other than being found in contempt in court. It was always they same story and saying its just a routine traffic stop. That happen to me 4 times within the 6 months when I lived in Cobb County.
