Stolen iPad Leads City Police to Trove of Purloined Electronics

The hunt led Brookhaven police to the Powder Springs home of 32-year-old Jamar Romel White, who was charged with theft.

Brookhaven police tracked a stolen iPad to a trove of stolen electronics in Powder Springs Sept. 30, Powder Springs police said.

Here's the report from Powder Springs police:

On 9/30/13, Powder Springs Police Officers assisted Brookhaven Police Detectives after Brookhaven Police tracked a stolen iPad to 4352 Warwick Lane in the City of Powder Springs.  Powder Springs officers went to the location and recovered the stolen iPad.   The homeowner, 32 year-old Jamar Romel White, was detained and charged with theft by receiving stolen property. After obtaining a search warrant, Brookhaven Police conducted a search of the residence while accompanied by Powder Springs Police detectives, where two additional confirmed stolen laptops and an illegal marijuana grow were located.

A subsequent search warrant obtained by Powder Springs Police Detectives for the Warwick Lane residence revealed that the illegal marijuana grow consisted of 14 plants, and an additional 27 confirmed stolen laptop computers and tablets were located.  There are hundreds of additional electronics that are suspected to be stolen and Powder Springs Detectives are currently working with nine other police jurisdictions in surrounding counties to assist in identifying any  stolen property.

Jamar Romel White is also charged with Manufacturing Marijuana and Intent to Distribute Marijuana.
