Shots Fired During Chamblee Armed Robbery Attempt

The incident occurred at North Shallowford Road and Peachtree Boulevard early Wednesday morning.

Shots were fired during an armed robbery attempt in Chamblee early Wednesday morning, police said.

From the Chamblee police department's weekly report to resident's last week:

North Shallowford Rd and Peachtree Blvd, midnight, officers responded to a robbery attempt with shots fired. The victim stated that he was walking with headphones on when he noticed a suspicious vehicle following him. The victim was approached by a suspect who chambered a round into a silver handgun. When the suspect chambered the gun the victim became scared and ran. Several shots were fired and shell casings were found nearby.

Soon after responding, Officer Hardy observed a vehicle matching the suspects vehicle description inside of the Chatsworth Apartments. The vehicle refused to stop until they reached the Mobile Station near Savoy Dr. Three suspects are charged with unrelated drug charges and being held for questioning by C.I.D.
