Shots Fired During Armed Robbery Outside Chamblee Bank

The robbers stole about $40,000 from the victim in the 5000 block of Buford Highway last week.

Armed robbers fired at their victim outside a Chamblee bank last week, police said.

The victim was carrying about $40,000 in a bag and was walking into the bank in the 5000 block of Buford Highway on Monday, Aug. 12 at 2 p.m., according to a Chamblee police report. He was struck on the head outside the bank and turned to find one suspect pointing a gun at him while the a second suspect stole the bag.

The suspects fired several shots at the victim and missed while damaging the bank's front doors. They may have fled in a charcoal-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee, the report said.
