Chamblee Police Repond to Kidnapping Call, Confiscate Stolen Weapons

Guns, marijuana were recovered during a persons-held-against-their-will call.


A look at recent crimes from Officer Alex Cushenan of the Chamblee Police Department:

  • 600 block of Teal Road, 1 am. The victim observed a suspicious silver pickup truck driving down Teal. He watched as two white males exited their truck and walked up his driveway. He immediately called 911 describing as the males loaded and removed a black trailer from his residence.
  • 1/17/13. Burglary. 5300 block of New Peachtree Road, afternoon. The victim did not lock the front door of her apartment and returned home to find $3,100 dollars worth of items stolen.
  • 1/17/13. Stolen Vehicle, Fleeing and Eluding, Obstruction. Parsons Drive. Officer Hardy was monitoring traffic with our Tag Readers when the system hit on a stolen red Mustang driven by a black male. Officer Hardy activated his blue lights and followed the Mustang until it pulled over to the right shoulder near 285. When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver threw the vehicle in drive and took off. The officer attempted to follow but lost sight of the vehicle on 285. He pulled onto Peachtree Blvd southbound and observed the same vehicle parked and abandoned on Carver Drive. Doraville K9 responded and tracked the driver to a house on Deacon Lane.
  • 1/20/13. Armed Robbery/ Kidnapping/Burglary/ Aggravated Assault. Green Industrial Way. Officers responded to a person held against their will call. When they arrived they met a man who stated that four black males, armed with several weapons, including an AK 47, shotguns, and an AR15, stormed inside of his studio and began to beat him. The victim was able to escape and hide in a nearby studio. Officers were able to observe surveillance footage of the incident that showed the four suspects leaving the victims studio and entering another. Officers Winfield and Hardy approached and knocked on the suspects’ door. A male answered and quickly fled back into the studio. Shortly after, a pregnant female exited and stated several times that no one was inside of the location, at that time two males also exited. Officers cleared the room and recovered three stolen long guns, a shotgun, a handgun, a large amount of marijuana.
