Auto Thefts, Break-ins Trending In Chamblee

Patch looks at some recent crime reports coming out of the city of Chamblee.


This list of recent criminal activity comes from Officer Alex Cushenan of the Chamblee Police C.O.P.S. unit:

  • 12/13/12 - Entering Auto. 4300 block of N. Shallowford Rd. Vehicle was parked overnight in a parking deck. No forced entry could be observed but the victim claims to have locked the vehicle. Approximately $1,300 worth of stereo equipment and a touch screen monitor was taken.
  • 12/13/12 - Auto Theft. 4300 block of N. Shallowford Rd. Victim's white Jeep Cherokee was stolen from the 3rd floor of the same parking deck during the night.
  • 12/14/12 - Entering Auto. 4300 block of N. Shallowford Rd. Between 1 am and 1 pm on the 3rd level of a parking deck the victim’s front driver’s side window was broken and loose change taken from the center console.
  • 12/14/12 - Entering Auto. 5400 block of Peachtree Blvd. Victim stated that she ran into a business momentarily and left her purse on the front seat with the doors unlocked. Upon her arrival the purse was missing. 4PM.
  • 12/14/12 - Entering Auto. 3700 block of Loveland Terr. Victim’s passenger side window was broken and a black bag taken from the front seat including a laptop, and Delta Security badge. Overnight.
  • 12/14/12 - Entering Auto. 3600 block of Teal Rd. Overnight. Victim’s vehicle was left unlocked and her purse and a box containing 27 black hats were removed.
  • 12/14/12 - Person Shot/Aggravated Assault/Armed Robbery Attempt. 3800 block of Green Ind Way. Victim stated he was in the parking lot when the suspect approached behind him and demanded the victim to hand over money. A struggle ensued and the victim was shot in the leg. The suspect fled in a black Chevy Impala SS with dark tinted windows.
  • 12/15/12 - Burglary. 4700 block of Buford Hwy. Victim returned home to find his bedroom window open and $300.00 dollars missing. Overnight.
  • 12/16/12 - Entering Auto. 4800 block of Buford Hwy. Victim found his driver’s side window shattered and wallet missing from the vehicle. 10:45AM and 11AM.
  • 12/18/12 - Entering Auto. 3300 block of N. Hills Pkwy. Victim caught the suspect inside of the vehicle. He told the suspect not to leave and wait for the police. The suspect, described as an Asian male, 5’8” Ft and 200LBS wearing all dark clothing, a black beanie style hat and medical gloves. The suspect fled in a red Ford Mustang Coup.
