Police Chief Hopefuls Need Not Apply...Yet

The Governor's Commission on Brookhaven's police committee is not accepting applications or resumes for police chief or police officer candidates.

The Governor's Commission on Brookhaven's police committee decided last week not to accept any resumes or applications from those hoping to become the city's next police chief or from anyone hoping just to be on the force.

JD Clockadale, the commission member who co-chairs the police committee said, “We are not going to take resumes and make a mistake where a resume wasn’t passed along and someone didn’t get a fair shot at being Chief of Police. Anyone who has will need to resubmit once the job posting for the Chief of Police has been officially announced.”

The announcement to not accept resumes is a safety precaution for both the committee members and the applicants.
