Man Claiming to Be Cop Shakes Down Buford Highway Massage Parlor

The incident occurred in the M&M Aroma Spa at 4300 Buford Highway on Thursday evening.

A man who said he was a police officer shook down a massage parlor on Buford Highway Thursday evening, DeKalb County police said.

The man walked into the M&M Aroma Spa at 4300 Buford Highway, said he was a "cop" and demanded a female employee give him the parlor's money at 7:15 p.m., the police report said. The woman pulled out about $1,000 in cash and placed it on a nearby table.

"We can work out a deal," the man said. "I'll do you a favor and take the money and not take you to jail."

The man took the cash and walked out of the business, heading northeast toward Buford Highway. He never displayed weapons or physically harmed the woman.

The spa has multiple security cameras as do surrounding businesses, but after the incident, the spa's owner was unable to access video recordings for the police from the business' cameras because he said he didn't how to use the recording system.

The suspect was described as a white male about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 200 pounds with a short, balding haircut. He was clean-shaven and in his early 30s. He wore a light brown shirt and pants.
