Stolen Laptop's Tracking Device Leads Police to Suspect

A man who lives on Buford Highway was charged with theft by receiving Tuesday evening.

A stolen laptop's tracking device led Chamblee police to a suspect Tuesday.

The laptop was stolen from a car on Buford Highway at about 6:30 p.m., according to a police report. The computer's tracker led officers to an apartment also on Buford Highway where the found it in the apartment of Antonio Ward, who was charged with theft by receiving.

The incident was given the "Darwin Award" by Chamblee police in its weekly report to residents.
