Firefighters Extinguish 2-Alarm Blaze in Brookhaven

The fire broke out around 11 a.m. on Tuesday in a vacant office building located at the corner of Peachtree Road and Colonial Drive.

A Tuesday morning fire in a vacant building caused quite the traffic jam in Brookhaven.

The 2-alarm blaze broke out around 11 a.m. in the office building located at the corner of Peachtree Road and Colonial Drive.

DeKalb firefighters units were able to extinguish the fire in about 15 minutes. No injuries were reported and fire officials have yet to determine the cause of the fire.

As the fire was being put out, Brookhaven police were on the scene to close all northbound lanes on Peachtree at Colonial as traffic backed up into Buckhead.
