Residents witnessed the officers around 11 a.m. and immediately informed neighbors through an email distribution list of the event.

Neighbors said police had agreed to increase patrols in the area following a rash of burglaries around the Drew Valley community, including East Drew Valley Road, Warwick Circle and Capehart Place.

Drew Valley resident Steve Walkers said police told him that the bust was, "a big deal in the area and a big bust for the area." He said the description given by one of our neighbors recently was instrumental in the arrest.

"I also asked about all the gunfire coming out of [nearby] apartments," Walker said. "The officer said a lot of the guns are stolen during robberies and then they shoot them off up in the air. He said it was a dangerous situation."

Additionally, a tow truck removed a tan SUV from the scene. Drew Valley residents previously identified a tan SUV at or near the scene in some of the attempted and suspected burglaries.

Fowler said in his note, "It's the tan SUV we kept hearing so much about."
