Get 'Social' With DeKalb County Police's North Precinct

The precinct that serves the Brookhaven community has a presence on two of the web's most popular social media outlets.

DeKalb County Police Department's North Precinct now has a growing presence on Facebook and Twitter as a way to better engage the community in public safety events.

At the time of publication of this article, the precinct's Facebook page reached 72 likes, or the number of Facebook users who added the page to their list of favorite pages. The page features the North Precinct's Supervisor of the month, a photo of what appears to be the confiscation of an illegal firearm and drugs, and an announcement highlighting National Night Out.

Al Fowler, North Precinct's community education office, forwarded the announcement of precincts new social media presence to local civic groups encouraging them to sign on, as well as the precincts new twitter page which has three followers.
