Chamblee Police Respond to Possible Gang Related Incidents

Recent Crimes in Chamblee

2/9/13 - Entering Auto, 5400 block of New Peachtree Road, 12 pm. Victim returned to her vehicle to find her purse missing, along with her cell phone, camera and GPS. No signs of forced entry.

2/9/13 - Entering Auto, 3200 block of Chamblee Dunwoody Rd, 7:30-10:20 pm. No signs of forced entry. Victim stated his Tablet worth $600 was removed from his vehicle.

2/9/13 - Entering Auto, 3500 block of Broad Street, 9 am. Victim left a nearby bank with an envelope in his hand containing $1,200. He placed the envelope in under his driver’’s side visor and entered a building on Broad. When he returned, his driver’’s side door lock was punched out and the money missing. I’’ve seen many cases where people are targeted and followed from banks. Please keep this in mind and be careful.

2/10/13 - Aggravated Assault, 3200 block of Chamblee Dunwoody Road, 5 am. Officers responded to a person down and found a male bleeding from his head. Victim was transported to the hospital. Witnesses stated that the man was in a fight with five males, one of whom struck the victim in the head with a beer bottle. The witness said that the man with the beer bottle claimed to be from the gang SUR 13.

2/12/13 - Armed Robbery, 3200 block of Chamblee Dunwoody Road, 9 pm. Victim stated he was approached by two Hispanic males. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at  the victim and demanded money. This suspect was described to have a tattoo on  the side of his nick with the letters ““MS13.”” The second suspect the struck the victim in the head with a glass bottle.
