1700 block of Hickory Rd, Officer Taylor responded to a 911 call of a suspicious vehicle parked behind a vacant house. When he arrived he could smell marijuana from the street and the odor grew more potent the closer he went to the house. Officers Zejnelovic, Lyons and K‐9 Officer Frye responded as back up. The Officers set a perimeter and detained a male suspect. Detectives secured a search warrant and when Detective Newberry interviewed the suspect, a second property rented by the suspect was located outside of Chamblee. The suspect provided Detective Newberry with the key to the front door and consent to search. Chamblee Detectives, with the assistance of DeKalb HIDTA, went to the location and discovered a second grow house. In total, we confiscated over 80 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $4,500 per pound. If my math adds up right, that’s equals a great job by the Officers and Detectives.

See the attached report for more crimes reported to Chamblee police earlier this month.
