Brookhaven Police Arrest Teens for Taxi Driver Robbery

The suspects – Cross Key High School students – were charged in the early Monday incident.

Brookhaven police arrested two teenagers for the armed robbery of a taxi cab driver early Monday.

The suspects – both Cross Key High School students – are 18-year-old Yeferson Cervantes and a 16-year-old female. The investigation is ongoing.

Brookhaven police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Clairmont Way around 3:30 a.m. Monday in reference to a suspicious person. When officers arrived they found that a taxi cab driver had been robbed by two suspects armed with a knife. Police searched the cab and found the suspects had left two photo identification cards in the vehicle.

Detectives distributed information to members of the Brookhaven Police Department Patrol Division. Officers searched for the suspects and visited many locations throughout Brookhaven until the suspects were eventually located by officers off Buford Highway.

The two suspects were arrested and are being interviewed by detectives.
