Chamblee Seniors Organization Hosts National Health Official

A top national health official visited Seniors Connection on Tuesday as part of National Seniors Center Month.

Kathy Greenlee, assistant secretary for aging for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, visited Chamblee-based Senior Connections on Tuesday as part of National Senior Center month.

Greenlee's visit also coincided with Senior Connections' partnership with the Atlanta Regional Commission to offer a series of preventive health services and screenings this fall. Preventive health services and screenings include: flu and pneumonia vaccinations, blood pressure and blood glucose screenings, hearing and vision checks, nutrition screenings and more.

On a visit from Washington to the Centers for Disease Control, Greenlee met with state, county and local officials for aging; toured Senior Connections’ 5,000-square-foot kitchen where 3,000 meals are prepared daily; and talked with visitors.
