Brookhaven Rotary Raises $136,000 For Shepherd Military Program

The chapter recently held its second annual Service About Self Invitational

The Rotary Club of Brookhaven raised more than $136,000 in cash and in-kind donations at its second annual Service Above Self Invitational golf tournament, which was held on Monday, May 14, 2012 at Cherokee Country Club.

Cunningham Associates Heating and Air led the fundraising effort as the General Level sponsor and helped Brookhaven Rotary increase its fundraising by 60 percent over last year’s Inaugural tournament. Net proceeds benefit Shepherd Center’s SHARE Military Initiative (Shaping Hope And Recovery Excellence), which cares for military servicemen and women with traumatic brain injury.

“The men and women who serve in our military and their families make many sacrifices to protect our freedom,” said Rotary Club of Brookhaven President Josh Moreland. “Our sponsors, golfers and club members stepped up in a big way once again this year by helping to support the SHARE Military Initiative at Shepherd Center.”
