The Friends of Ashford Park group is holding a park cleanup day from 9 am to noon on Saturday, March 2.
District 2 city councilman Jim Eyre said, "The cleanup will help get the park ready for increased use as the weather warms this spring. We will be cleaning up leaves, picking up trash, cleaning the portable toys, cleaning the beds and, hopefully, spreading pine straw around the trees at the playground.
"Please bring rakes, blowers, gloves, clippers and other hand tools you may feel appropriate for this work."
