Brookhaven AED Project Nearing Goal

Group wants to purchase 64 life-saving devices for police department.

From the Friends of Brookhaven:

At the Gobble Jog in Marietta over Thanksgiving a man's life was saved by a firefighter on a bike with a portable AED. The runner collapsed with the firefighters nearby, and they used the AED to restart his heart.  Within eight minutes, the runner was at the hospital where he is now recovering.

Dunwoody had a similar story in July where a police officer saved a life with his AED donated to the city.

Friends of Brookhaven Foundation is raising money to purchase 64 portable AEDs for the Brookhaven Police Department. Time is critical when a person is in cardiac arrest and since police officers are typically first on the scene it is important they have these life saving devices.

The city is matching the funds we raise dollar for dollar, and we are very close to our goal of $30,000. Please consider a donation to The AED Project and help save a life in Brookhaven.
