Do you have a graduating senior or know someone who does?

If so, you’ll want to pay VERY close attention to the information in this blog post!

While your teen may still be your “baby,” did you know he or she is now considered an ADULT in the eyes of the law?

This means that if your teen has an accident while away on summer break or while off at college, you will likely be barred from getting information or making decisions about their care because of HIPAA laws.  HIPAA laws also apply to financial matters and legal situations.

You can’t even call the financial aid office at your child’s school without his or her permission.  It’s that serious!

Fortunately, there’s a work-around and it’s something that EVERY parent of an unmarried child 18 or older should have in place.

We call it our Parent Sanity Kit—consisting of a Power of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives and HIPAA forms, which allow you to maintain control and stay involved in an emergency.

By having these legal documents in place for your child, all you have to do is present them to the necessary party (hospital, police, school, etc.) and you’ll be able to immediately speak on your child’s behalf.  There’s no greater peace of mind than knowing you can stay in control and make critical decisions if necessary!

As a graduation special, we are offering our Parent Sanity Kit for just $350.  And, as a bonus, you will receive complimentary enrollment in DocuBank’s ICE program, which provides medical or emergency personnel with the information they need to make fast decisions for your child and keep YOU informed of any emergency situation at hand.

To learn more about our special, simply call us at (770) 425-6060 or click here.  Don’t wait another day to protect your child as he or she enters into the critical adult years.

Best Regards and Congratulations!
