Oglethorpe Women's Lacrosse Inaugural Game

The Oglethorpe women's lacrosse program gets underway next week with their inaugural game, which takes place Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. LaGrange will be the opponent for the historic event.

The men's lacrosse season opener against Piedmont is scheduled for 8 p.m. that night, and Oglethorpe Campus Life will sponsor a tailgate during the event. The women's lacrosse team will make an appearance at the tailgate between games.

The night will also mark the first official NCAA events on the new Oglethorpe Track and Field, which saw an artificial turf surface installed this winter.

"We are very excited about our inaugural game," said women's lacrosse head coach Lee Ann Tutchton. "We've been working toward this for a long time, and everybody on our team is more than ready to get underway for our inaugural season. We also want to thank LaGrange for being a part of this special event for our community, and we look forward to seeing everyone down at the field."

The women's lacrosse team will embark on their inaugural season as part of the SAA. They will also play non-conference games against colleges from the area, as well as Pomona-Pitzer, Transylvania and Dallas. The season wraps up with the SAA playoffs during the final two weekends in April.
