Jacobs Draws Democratic Opposition

Sandra Murray qualifies to face the GOP incumbent in November.


has drawn a Democratic challenger to his District 80 seat.

Sandra L. Murray, a 65-year-old computer consultant, will seek to unseat Jacobs on the November 6 general election.

Jacobs, who drafted the Brookhaven cityhood legislation that will appear on the July 31 ballot, was first electioned to the state House in 2004.

He currently chairs the House MARTA Oversight committee and vice chairs the influential Judiciary committee. He also sits on the Transportation, Insurance, and Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight committees.

Neither Jacobs or Murray drew opposition in their parties' respective primaries that will also be held on July 31.
