County Citizens Police Academy Accepting New Applicants

The 10-week-course gives citizens an inside view of the life of a cop.

Brookhaven residents are invited to apply for DeKalb County Police Department's May 2012 Citizen Academy. The Academy is a free 10 week course that allows the community to gain an inside perspective about law enforcement.  During the sessions, personnel from various units including patrol officers, detectives and crime prevention will teach participants about the complexities and operational structure of their perspective units.

It is the Citizen Police Academy’s aim that the course will give citizens an insider’s view of law enforcement.  Ultimately, this new found insight will assist in building and nurturing stronger relationships between the community and the DeKalb County Police Force.
