Carl, I understand the point you are making, but to be fair, shouldn't you factor in the ground meat constant? You give great cranium, but you may be a bit too focused.
Carl Childers July 23, 2012 at 07:45 PM
Brook, Yes. I sometimes lose my audience as it is tough to dumb down my superior intellect for the common folk. I shall try another angle: The polysaccharides and oligosaccharides found in these foods might otherwise pass through the small intestine unaffected. Once in the large intestine, those sugars may be worked on by intestinal flora, fermenting to produce the gases that cause discomfort. Please remember, while I do try to simplify, it is oft times difficult. For you see, I am a scientist and a genius. Notice my enormous cranium.

I love intestinal flora! It is so pretty!

Thank you to the No City leadership in developing the perfect strategy! You Brookhaven Yes folks are falling right into the rabbit hole. We have successfully painted you as the racists and homophobes as you rant about South Dekalb and it enables us to keep the Latinos in Buford Highway, the proletariat in Ashford Park and the Brookhaven wannabes in Silver Lake far away from our brand and association with a name that is reserved for only the folks who live within a 1/2 mile radius of the Capital City Club. You all are now perceived as the racists not us! Love it when a good plan comes together!"

I Received a highly emotional brochure in the mail today from NO CITY Brookhaven. How stupid do the No folks think we are? Comparing bankrupt towns such as Scranton PA, San Bernandino CA and Birmingham AL to our grassroots effort to create a local "government" called Brookhaven! How can you compare cities plagued with pensions, snow removal fleets, and abandoned steel industries to our grassroots attempt to form a small local city that will outsource services? Please vote YES and don't be fooled by the propoganda issued NO CITY. I can't help but wonder what they are protecting! Vote YES for the City of Brookhaven July 31
HamBurger July 27, 2012 at 03:53 AM
Mr. Hank, what did you think about the highly emotional Brookhaven Yes mailer today? The one impugning the good name of Mr. Cousin’s and the Imlay’s? The mailer dragging President Obama and Vernon Jones into this cityhood issue? How stupid do the Brookhaven yes folks think we are? Have you seen the ballot committee information for the two Brookhaven Yes ballot committees? How do you feel about being bought by businesses with interests in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Johns Creek, and Peachtree Corners just jumping at the chance for another customer? Please pass the thin sliced onions and pickles!
No City Busted July 27, 2012 at 04:10 AM
Jodi Cobb busted! Chuck Konas busted! DeKalb politicians had better lawyer up!
Eric H July 27, 2012 at 04:46 AM
That Obama/Ellis flyer is from the Brookhaven Ballot Committee not the Brookhaven Yes committee. And just how does stating a facct that they were large contributors to President Obama, Vernon Jones and the No City impugn them? Your flyer today is full of even more misleading information than the last one. Based on the CVI in its first year Brookhaven can have a surplus and still stay below its millage cap.
Jack of Kings July 27, 2012 at 11:27 AM
NOCITY Brookhaven mailer everyone just received insults the intelligence of the voter. They cite the OLD cities with underfunded pension plans, little outsourcing, and tries to warn voters that a NEW city with NO pension obligations accrued and a city plan to heavily rely on lower cost outsourcing will fail before it even begins! Nice try. But I think most voters are guffawing at that mailer.
HamBurger July 27, 2012 at 11:33 AM
Mr. Eric, this mailer has nothing to do with the new city. What was its purpose? It would be like me pointing out that you worked for Cynthia McKinney. Regarding Brookhaven Ballot Committee and Brookhaven Yes, the key players war pictured in the picture of Governor Deal signing HB 636. The difference is in name only. Please pass the yellow mustard!
Hank Quinn July 27, 2012 at 11:34 AM
I have not received the flyer from the Brookhaven ballot committee. I'll watch for it today. If the Country Clubbers gave large amounts to Vernon Jones' campaign and are now backing the NO City campaign then I wonder how they personally benefited and and what they are now protecting. Assembling homes for large apartment complexes? Seeking favors for zoning?
HamBurger July 27, 2012 at 12:03 PM
“ . . . I wonder how they personally benefited and and what they are now protecting. Assembling homes for large apartment complexes? Seeking favors for zoning?” Mr. Quinn, that’s funny. Buford Highway is a very long time away from being redeveloped. Plus, the folks associated with any potential Real Estate deals tend to build upper scale projects. You know this, you are just being inflammatory. Also, that Silver Lake area may not be Historic Brookhaven but it is upscale, right? Please pass the yellow mustard!

How much was Megan Myers Hanson and Don Bolia paid for their services for Brookhaven Yes? Please pass the yellow mustard!
Chris July 27, 2012 at 02:10 PM
Couldn't agree more. That flyer was full of lies, inappropriate comparisons and distortions. The silliness of this 'Brokehaven' diatribe is over the top. People are not stupid nor like sheep. Residents reading this will roll their eyes and vote YES.
Eric H July 27, 2012 at 03:20 PM
I agree, the No City flyer in addition to its totally off base comparisons is shameful in its misstatements. They actually cite the CVI study to make the incorrect claim that the city will have a deficit. Based on the CVI and the updated information on the property tax digest reduction combined with the increased HOST proceeds and the increased business license fees identified by Dunwoody's CFO Mr. Pike, the City will have a large surplus. No city is being disingenuous by using only the Property Tax reduction that the County released. I call on the County to update their release that incorrectly asserted the deficit number.
Mr. Clean July 27, 2012 at 04:49 PM
Dear HamBurger, It is clear from your posts that you are slightly obsessed with Megan Myers Hanson, so why don't you get your facts straight about her. She's not a lobbyist for Brookhaven Yes. She's not even on the board for Brookhaven Yes. Please pass the stain remover!
Eric H July 27, 2012 at 05:17 PM
While I don't agree with the flyer I don't think you can say it has nothing to do with the city. I mean the DeKalb Democratic Machine is pretty heavily entwined with the No City effort as seen by those emails and the prominent people in No City. So while I don't like it, you can't really say its not fair game to point out the Democratic connection. And I still don't see how that Impugned the integrity of Mr. Cousins or the Imlays. And, I'm often to the left, though I think I'm more fiscally conservative than the Republican Georgia Legislature and the Democratic DeKalb County government. And I value representatives that have beliefs and speak truth to power (that handle is not my moniker) or who believe Sunshine is the best disinfectant. And for anyone else reading this I can only urge you to not believe everything you read or see on TV. Its sad how often people are willing to use one piece of a statement to change the obvious or intended meaning of a statement. For example using Dunwoody Mayor Davis' statement that the resident's are not wanted but leaving out the first part of the statement that said the Perimeter Summit would be taken to say we have nothing to fear, things will stay the same if we vote no. Or taking President Obama's statement about you didn't build that and editing out the intro line about highways to make it sound like he was saying business owners didn't build their business when he clearly meant the infrastructure.
HamBurger July 27, 2012 at 05:29 PM
Like there is a difference between Brookhaven Yes and Brookhaven Ballot Committee of which she is listed as the chairperson and Mark Graffagnino is the treasurer? Please pass the yellow mustard!
John Galt July 27, 2012 at 05:37 PM
Burger - $0. The answer is conveniently linked to on your website (http://theotherbrookhaven.blogspot.com/). Neither is identified in the "expenditures" disclosures. But don't let facts get in the way of a good story bro.
Eric H July 27, 2012 at 05:38 PM
BTW Hamburger I notice how you and a couple of your cohorts or aliases like to drop what I'll call "nuggets of information" that you feel are salacious or indicate your ability to know where someone lives. I myself try to stick to the issues. Yes I am not 100% correct or 100% perfect by any means. But I try to be reasonable, thus I've attacked Yes folks when they've gone off the relevance to this issue range in attacking identifiable No Folks. As an anonymous poster your antics are hypocritical at best. But there is no gain in going further into that since after all you are anonymous.
not one of 60 July 27, 2012 at 05:42 PM
Hamburger is such a loser/liar! If anyone knows who this jerk is please post it, so the world knows what a sorry person they are.
HamBurger July 27, 2012 at 06:19 PM
Mr.Eric: “ . . . I think I'm more fiscally conservative than the Republican Georgia Legislature and the Democratic DeKalb County government.” Son, it has taken you a while, but looks like you are finally growing up. “ . . . I notice how you and a couple of your cohorts or aliases like to drop what I'll call "nuggets of information" that you feel are salacious or indicate your ability to know where someone lives.” No worse than others, plus it sometimes puts the conversation in better context. But, that does not work to your favor. Please pass the yellow mustard!
HDM July 27, 2012 at 06:24 PM
How much have thralls of the NOCity DeKalb Democrat bureacracy paid to try to protect their politicians?
HDM July 27, 2012 at 06:50 PM
Eric, personal attacks and attempts to spread FUD are 90% of Hamburger's argument, it is all she has.
Eric H July 27, 2012 at 07:00 PM
"No worse than others" Perhaps, though like I said i've admonished Yes folks who've attacked identifiable posters. Anonymous monikers obviously are fair game though I do find that back and forth silly. More importantly two wrongs don't make a right - though I appreciate you calling me son, makes me feel young! Pretty hard to do at my advanced age.
HDM July 27, 2012 at 07:09 PM
Eric, we now know that the county and NOCity are purposefully trying to discredit the CVI, it is part of their "politics 101" as Ms. Cobb stated.
