Chamblee Council Seeking to Remove City Manager

The Chamblee City Council voted to fire City Manager Niles Ford at its Tuesday night meeting.

Fox 5 Atlanta is reporting the council issued a preliminary resolution to fire the city manager after it went into executive session and then announced they've lost confidence and a sense of leadership.

The announcement came after the council first approved, and then delayed, a rezoning sought by City Councilman Tom Hogan, who wanted to subdivide his home and an adjoining property into three smaller lots with bigger homes facing a different direction.

Dozens of neighbors signed petitions against the rezoning, and 10 people filed ethics complaints against Hogan.

The council voted to approve the rezoning, but the vote was thrown out because of procedural mistakes.

The council then voted to delay the project until the ethics complaints were addressed.
