Brookhaven Sees Big Jump in Number of Toddlers

2010 Census also finds a strong increase in number of pre-schoolers in Chamblee

The number of pre-school-age children rose rapidly in North Atlanta and Chamblee over the past decade, at rates that grew much faster than the overall populations of the communities, according to a Patch analysis of U.S. Census Bureau figures.

North Atlanta also saw an increase in the number of school-aged children, while that group declined sharply in numbers in Chamblee from 2000 to 2010.

Brookhaven is part of the North Atlanta Census Designated Place (CDP), which means the bureau considers it a distinct area and gathers data for the community even though it is not an incorporated town.
