Chamblee native joins growing bank's lending team
Steve Cope is a banking veteran
Private Bank of Buckhead has named Steve Cope a Loan Administration Specialist and Banking Officer. He is a banking veteran who has 20+ years’ experience in banking in the Atlanta market.
“Steve is very focused on client service, directly impacting our clients by making sure all parties involved in any banking process are focused on ultimate client satisfaction,” says Brent Adams, Executive Vice President and Senior Banking Officer. “His experience and client-centric approach make him a great addition to our team.”

The Atlanta native has worked with the big-box banks, but also with two community banks. Cope is highly skilled in client relations, linking client needs to products and services to meet and exceed expectations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Georgia Tech and an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University.
“My approach is to step into the client’s shoes while wearing my company hat,” Cope says. “After all, banking is a ‘people business’ – it’s fun getting to know the clients and making them feel good about doing business with you.”

Away from the bank, Cope enjoys tennis, soccer, hiking, and time with his family, which includes wife Sheila and their son, who loves baseball, marine life and his dog Dixie. They are residents of the Chamblee neighborhood where Steve grew up and attended high school. Steve celebrated his 50th birthday this past year by hiking 50 miles of the Foothills Trail in South Carolina.
Private Bank of Buckhead brings a private banking approach to all clients across all functions of the bank. The bank – now in its eighth year – is designated a Preferred Lender by the U.S. Small Business Administration, and includes a recently relaunched and expanded mortgage unit, PrivatePlus Mortgage, as well as a Decatur location, known as Private Bank of Decatur.
