Residents Complain About Traffic Backups at Brookhaven Starbucks

Have you ever had a tough traffic scrape at Peachtree Road and Colonial Drive?

Traffic snarls near Brookhaven's Starbucks at Peachtree Road and Colonial Drive has some residents complaining.

Kendall Craig, director of the Buckhead Alliance and a Brookhaven Heights resident, is urging the store to hire an officer to direct traffic outside the store each morning during rush hour.

"As a mother of two daughters trying to get my children to school in the morning, I find it extremely dangerous and incredibly irresponsible of Starbucks to not pay the $20 per hour traffic officer to combat this issue," Craig said. "It is so dangerous and its just a matter of time before something bad happens."

Craig said she has the store manager and the company's headquarters regarding the issue, and said she received a canned response.

"Your store has cars backed up along Peachtree every morning and people forced to slam on their breaks," Craig wrote to the company's headquarters. "It's unacceptable that you are aware of these dangers every single morning, day in and day out, and have done nothing to correct it whether it is a traffic officer or working with your landlord to correct the parking and drive-thru issues."
