Public Service Commission to Hear Concerns About AGL Pipeline Station

Two members of the Clairmont Community Alliance are set to appear at a Thursday hearing on the controversial project.

Two local residents are set to appear Thursday morning before the Georgia Public Service Commission, talking about Atlanta Gas Light's plans to build to a gas regulator station near PDK Airport.

Lori Muskat and Cheryl Huvardon are both members of the Clairmont Community Alliance, a group of residents opposed to the project being built in the Tanglewood Circle and Clairmont Road communities.

The meeting begins at 9 am at the PSC's offices, 244 Washington Street.

In a story first reported here on Patch, AGL is replacing portions of its so-called Eastside Pipeline. It is also building a gas regulator pipeline station directly in DeKalb-Peachtree Airport's flight path, which has some residents worried about potential public safety issues.

While AGL spokespersons say the station and pipeline are safe, some local residents say the company has not been forthcoming about addressing the concerns of local residents.

A residential gas line near the regulator station was struck during a routine bit of construction on March 8, which has heightened residents' concerns over the station itself.
