Lips Atlanta Debuts Friday

Lips, a drag dining establishment, opens on Buford Highway in Brookhaven on Friday.

The company already has locations in New York, San Diego and Fort Lauderdale, and its Atlanta location will open at 3011 Buford Highway. Patrons will be treated to dinner, drinks and a Las Vegas-style female impersonator show.

"People love to have a good time and we deliver that and much more with a talented cast of top female impersonators, great food and interactive shows, including our world famous Gospel Brunch," said Yvonne Lame, Lips' founder and owner, in a statement.

The new location features a kaleidoscope of bejeweled mirrors, crystal chandeliers and sconces, marble floors, pink leopard walls, velvet curtains, an embellished stage, a state-of-the-art sound system and club lighting. It's 7,000 square feet and accommodates 220 guests.

"We are thrilled to welcome Lips to our growing business community in the new city of Brookhaven," said Arthur Freeman, the city's commerce chamber executive director, in a statement. "Lips offers a welcome component to our dynamic mix of businesses and we know that its opening here will impact future developments in our unique area."
