Developer: Chamblee Plaza to Reopen as 'The Blee on Broad'

Trinity Development Group plans to submit its final redevelopment plan to the City of Chamblee within the next 60 days.

Chamblee Plaza's owner plans to re-open the redeveloped plaza as The Blee on Broad, the developer said Tuesday.

Trinity Development Group said it intends to submit its final redevelopment plan for the 50-year-old shopping center to the City of Chamblee for final approval within 60 days.

"Our vision to transform Chamblee Plaza into a city center that will connect people with local businesses was the result of a nine-month alignment process involving well over 350 local citizen stakeholders from neighborhoods in and around Chamblee," said Vince Riggio, Trinity's founder and managing partner.

The redeveloped shopping center would include more than 28,000 square feet of new retail space. (The company's redevelopment plan is attached in PDF form at right.) It's supposed to create a "downtown vibe," including a "pocket park," a foodie court and walking paths, among other features.
