Costco Town Brookhaven Gas Pumps are Officially Open

What do you think about Costco's newest addition?

More than a year since their plans were first announced, the gas pumps at Costco's Town Brookhaven location are finally open.

Patch took these photos on Thursday afternoon.

Last year, the store's proposal to put in a gas station ran into opposition from the community.

At a meeting with DeKalb County's planning department, three area residents, one of whom is a Costco member, and an Oglethorpe University representative spoke out against the gas station, citing potential issues like long lines spilling out onto two-lane Hermance Drive and creating traffic jams.

Oglethorpe was concerned about property devaluation and wanted Costco to help fund a pedestrian walkway from the school to Town Brookhaven, an idea that has been rejected.
