Neighbors are invited to help the Peachtree Road Kroger in Brookhaven celebrate its re-grand opening Wednesday at 3 p.m.
The store has undergone a 30,000-square-foot expansion, increasing the size to some 89,000 square feet.
“The Brookhaven Kroger location has been a part of the community since 1999,” says Glynn Jenkins, Director of Communications and Public Relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division, in a press release. “We are proud to offer new and expanded services to our loyal customers and provide a more convenient shopping experience.”
The expanded Kroger will features a number of new amenities, including:
- Expanded natural foods department
- Bistro with chef-prepared meals
- Murray's Cheese Shoppe
- Walk-up pharmacy window
- Fresh sushi
- Expanded beer and wine department
- Expanded meat and seafood departments
- Soft-serve frozen yogurt
“In my 36 years of service to Kroger, the excitement expressed from the Brookhaven community and Kroger associates as we celebrate the re-grand opening of this store surpasses anything I’ve experienced before,” says Bobby Smith, store manager. “We look forward to serving this wonderful community and encourage residents to join us following the ribbon cutting for an Open House until 6 p.m. for entertainment, sampling and live cooking demo with Master Chef John Szymanski.”
Also as part of the celebration, Kroger is donating $3,000 to the “Friends of Brookhaven Foundation” to assist with the purchase of defibrlllators for the police department.
The Peachtree Road Kroger employs more than 191 associates.
