Brookhaven Attorney Elected to Lead Georgia Trial Lawyers Association

Attorney Linley Jones of Brookhaven was elected last month to serve as the 59th president of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association at the group’s annual convention in Atlanta. Jones, who previously served as GTLA President-Elect, was unanimously elected by the members of the association. 

“It is a true honor to be elected by my fellow trial lawyers to lead this organization,” Jones said. “I have spent my entire career representing deserving individuals who have gone through difficult, life-changing situations and no group stands for the rights of injured Georgians like the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. I am looking forward to working alongside our leadership, staff and general membership as we continue our efforts to keep the courthouse door open to all of our state’s citizens.”

Jones is the founding partner of The Linley Jones Firm, PC and has lived in Brookhaven since 1996. She was the spokesperson for Brookhaven Yes and a board member of Citizens for North DeKalb.

Her law practice is focused on legal malpractice, and she was the first woman in the United States to be board-certified in legal malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys, the ABA’s certifying body. Jones also handles wrongful death and personal injury cases, with a particular focus on brain and spinal cord injuries.

Linley is a member of the Board of Governors of the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys, is a Co-Founder of the Atlanta Trial Lawyers Society and is a member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the American Association for Justice.  She has been named one of the Top 50 Female Lawyers in Georgia by Atlanta Magazine for five consecutive years. 

“Now more than ever, our state’s Civil Justice System is in need of a strong, united defense against the near-constant attempts to prevent Georgians from having their day in court,” Jones said. “The right to trial by jury that our Founding Fathers enshrined in the Constitution has become a political target, and I am looking forward to working with GTLA’s 2,000 members to ensure that this right is safeguarded and protected.”
