Remember the Time

For a Memorial Day that's great, dial back and appreciate

Do you remember 15 years ago when you had young, innocent skin? Do you remember – ha – what your parents said, “Clean, tone, moisturize before you go to bed?” And if not, break the cycle!

This Memorial Day weekend, it’s time to remember the time like it was yesterday. Then check out before June 1 to experience the glorious restoration of every cell and the shrinking of every pore. Kristin Ballantine, founder and primary service provider, launched this day spa and yoga studio after years of experience providing these services for hundreds of clients. But be forewarned, the experience will leave you feeling less like a client and more like a friend mimicking the ease of developing relationships like you did in your high school or college days. If you like smaller, more personal spa experiences, you just may leave Kristin feeling like she is your Bestie Esthie!

So, my shopping was centered on the skin care side of the business – the balancing facial and a subsequent microderm abrasion appointment. The combination was exactly what I needed prior to my moment in the spotlight of CNN Health when I was scheduled to speak on stroke awareness on behalf of the American Heart and Stroke Association for National Stroke Awareness Month which is May. I couldn’t bear the thought of the core message  - know the signs – being diluted with the glare of television lights on what could appear to be bare skin since I had no plans of caking it up.  Not only was the service at Skin and Body Balance educational, therapeutic, and inspiring; Kristin made it fun and insightful.

Other services offered at SBB include facial peels, eye treatments, sweet lip services, and good old extractions just in case those young memories like to pop up at the most inopportune times around your forehead, nose or chin. Beyond the face, Skin and Body Balance provides similar services for the back, neck, chest and hands. If hair is a problem, you’ll find a solution here located atop Brookhaven’s own .

As if that weren’t enough, Kristin is a certified yoga and pilates instructor. This is certainly a way to recapture your flexibility from years ago. Affirm with me: I deserve this little gift.

Don’t let this Memorial Day pass without honoring those who have gone before and recapturing some of your least stressful times of yesteryear.  Contact SBB to schedule a session before the end of May. When booking, tell them that Patch’s Secret Shopper sent you to receive 10% off of the service. Finally, don’t forget to let me know your thoughts in the comments section of this article!

Thanks to an excellent experience but a somewhat tricky hideaway location that requires additional signage, I give Skin and Body Balance 1.75 thumbs up!

Namaste.
