Meals on Wheels Program needs volunteers

Organization needs extra hands and cars to prepare and deliver meals for local seniors.

Senior Connections has a critical need for volunteers this weekend to help prepare and deliver meals for the Meals on Wheels program at its Chamblee location.

The weather conditions this past week, officials said, prohibited the delivery of hundreds of meals to seniors who look forward to the hot meals and human connection they get with each delivery. Senior Connections prepares and delivers nearly 3,000 meals daily throughout Metro Atlanta and needs to make up the deliveries.

Volunteers are especially needed throughout the weekend and during the Martin Luther King Holiday. Interested volunteers should call 770-455-7602 or email aperkins@seniorconnectionsatl.org.
