MARTA to Modify Weekend Rail Service for Track Work

Customers are Advised to Allow Extra Time for Their Trip.

Brookhaven travelers using today are encouraged to allow extra time for their trips due to scheduled road work.

In order to accommodate scheduled track work, MARTA will modify rail service on all lines today, Feb. 27.  Customers traveling this weekend are advised to allow extra time for their trip.

According to a MARTA's communication office, Red Line trains will only operate between North Springs and Lindbergh; therefore, service between Lindbergh and Airport Stations will be running at a reduced frequency – every 20 minutes.  Customers traveling from North Springs will need to transfer to a Gold Line train at Lindbergh Station in order to continue southbound.  Customers traveling northbound from the Airport will need to transfer to a Red Line train at Lindbergh Station to continue to North Springs Station.  At East Point Station, all trains will board on the northbound platform.

On the Blue Line, customers at King Memorial, Georgia State, Five Points and Georgia Dome stations must board trains on the eastbound platform on Sunday evening beginning at 9:30 p.m.  In addition, customers traveling from Bankhead station must transfer to a Blue Line train at Ashby station in order to continue eastbound or westbound.  As a result, service between Bankhead and Vine City will be operating at a reduced frequency – every 20 minutes.

For additional information, contact MARTA Customer Information at 404-848-5000 (Open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or visit www.itsmarta.com.

Rail information was provided by the MARTA communications office.
