Heat Advisory in Effect for Metro Atlanta

The National Weather Service says heat index could rise as high as 110 degrees

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory Wednesday predicting that temperatures could soar to the 100s and the heat index could be as much as 110 degrees.

NWS warns against strenuous activity during the hottest times of the day, and suggests rescheduling activity during either the early morning hours or after sunset.

The advisory is in effect until 5 a.m. Thursday, when cooler temperatures are expected.
