Great Escape: Antiques and Icecream

Ideas to give hard working moms a much deserved break!

Soccer season and little league is underway, and swim season will be here before you know it. You spend so much time making sure your kids get their time outside, when do you get a break for just you? Take some time and enjoy the nice weather, walking around one of our neighborhood's outdoor shopping areas before the Atlanta sun gets to be too much for even the little ones to bear.

Everything old is new again, or at least it can be if you visit Chamblee's Antique Row. If you have never been, you are missing out on a charming selection of shops that line the main street of Old Towne Chamblee.

From consignment stores - Consignment Furniture Depot has a great selection. If you find a piece you love with a price you don't, keep visiting. The prices drop as time goes on. You will be able to spend hours wandering around these shops, finding relics of your past or purchases of your future.

When your hunger hits - and with all this shopping it surely will - stop in to Old Chamblee Bistro for lunch, with a selection of sandwiches and salads that will satiate any hunger. End your excursion with some ice cream from The Frosty Caboose - but shh, don't tell your kids you went there without them!
