With so many great businesses in our area there is never a lack of things going on for the whole family to enjoy, so check out our picks for the next week and plan your calendar accordingly!

When/Where: Saturday, April 23, 8:30 a.m.; Starts and Finishes at Peachtree DeKalb Airport

Why Go: This 2nd annual road race, sponsored by the city of Chamblee, offers an opportunity for athletes of all levels to take part in either a 5k race through Chamblee's downtown and mid-city district or a 1k route around one of the airport's runways! All entrants will receive a shirt, along with plenty of food, fluids and music at the family area in a hangar sponsored by Epps Aviation! There will even be a visit by the Easter Bunny!

Pricing: $25, and race packets will be picked up on the race day

2. SHAKESPEARE'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Why Go: Celebrate the bard's birthday at this family-friendly party which includes games, a bounce house, crafts, face painting, performances and more

3. PUBLIX GRAND OPENING

When/Where: Thursday, April 21, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Why Go: The long awaited Publix is finally opening in Town Brookhaven! This new hybrid store will be the first of its kind in the area, offering traditional foods as well as its organic food that is found in their GreenWise markets. The store will also offer curbside pickup and in store seating to enjoy your prepared foods.

4. ASHFORD PARK EASTER EGG HUNT

When/Where: Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.; Ashford Park

Why Go: The 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by The Debbie Leonard Group of Keller Williams Realty, is a great chance for your little ones to hunt for eggs and meet the Easter Bunny! Join them from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for coffee and bagels, kids 5 and under will hunt eggs from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and kids over 5 will hunt eggs from 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

5. LITTLE NANCY CREEK PARK EASTER EGG HUNT & SPRING GAMES

When/Where: Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Little Nancy Creek Park on Peachtree Dunwoody

Why Go: Celebrate this park with an Easter Egg hunt and games, coffee and light breakfast will be served, along with the Easter Egg hunt and Easter bunny!
