Five Things to Know Today: Oct. 17

You daily does of what's happening in your neighborhood.

1. Weather: It's going to be a beautiful Monday, Brookhaven and Chamblee neighbors. The National Weather Service predicts a forecast of sunny, with a high near 85.

2. Financial Aid Night: Parents looking toward the future of college as a possiblity for their children, will host Financial Aid Night in the school's cafeteraia at 6:30 p.m. Parents will hear practical information about college funding, including general info on scholarships, grants, loans, HOPE, and financial aid forms for public and private colleges and universities.Location: CCHS Cafeteria

3. Dog Training Classes: Does your dog have too much of a free spirit? The St. Francis Pet Ministry of is offering dog training classes for the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen test.   Classes will run 5 weeks (Mondays beginning 9/12-10/17) and will be taught by dog trainer Lennox Gavin. Classes are limited to six teams. (Teams consist of one dog, plus humans). For more information contact the Pet Ministry by emailing petmi­nistry@­stmartins.­org.  Cost: $110

4. Do you Tango? If not you can start today! Tango classes ae being held at Beginner classes are from 7 - 8:15pm and includes 15 minutes of practice.  Classes last 8 weeks. Dance partners are not required but it helps with gender balance.  Partners are rotated unless you prefer to stay with your own.
