Ecumenical Easter Sunrise Service
The member churches of the Brookhaven Christian Ministries will celebrate the resurrection of the Lord with a traditional sunrise service on Easter Sunday, April 24th at 7am on the chapel lawn of the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church located behind Oglethorpe University at 3016 Lanier Drive. This annual service will include song, scripture, prayer and much more!

Rev. David Wofford, associate pastor of St. James United Methodist Church, will be the featured speaker at this interdenominational service.

Other member churches of the Brookhaven Christian Ministries include the following: Brookhaven Christian Church, Brookhaven United Methodist Church, Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, St. James United Methodist Church and St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church.
A voluntary offering will benefit the Suthers Center for Christian Outreach which offers emergency assistance, a thrift shop and food pantry to those in need in the Chamblee and Brookhaven neighborhoods. Suthers Center is named after Father Derwent Suthers, formerly of St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, who has been a tireless supporter of those in need and instrumental in making the Brookhaven Christian Ministries coalition of churches what it is today. He epitomizes the positive impact we can make when we roll up our sleeves and work together in Christ’s name.
Immediately following the sunrise service, there will be a small reception.
The Brookhaven Christian Ministries is a group of churches from the Brookhaven Community that meets monthly to address the needs of local residents. All churches in the Brookhaven area are invited to join. Oglethorpe University is a highly selective, nondenominational, private liberal arts college located at 4484 Peachtree Road in northeast Atlanta.
