Elena Parent Plans Community Meeting on Brookhaven Cityhood
The forum is being held in conjunction with Ashford Park Civic Association and Drew Valley Civic Association
State Rep. Elena Parent will host a forum to discuss the benefits and pitfalls of a City of Brookhaven during an informational session next Wednesday at Oglethorpe University.
In an email she sent to constitutents last week, Parent said the benefits as well as how tax rates and governmental structures differ between the two will be among several topics discussed during the educational meeting scheduled for June 29 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lupton Auditorium on the university's campus.
Among the invited guests were Jim Grubiak of the Association County Commissioners of Georgia, Lamar Norton of the Georgia Municipal Association, representatives from the Georgia General Assembly, the City of Chamblee, and DeKalb County.
