Do Not Take I-285 This Weekend

Unless you just love sitting in stand-still traffic, avoid Interstate 285 at all costs.

For several weekends, the repaving project of Interstate 285 has called for serious lane closures which means serious traffic jams. This weekend is no different.

The Georgia Department of Transportation's $56 million repaving project covers the northwestern part of 285, between Ashford Dunwoody Road and Paces Ferry Road in Cobb County.

The official completion date of the project is August 2013.
