Brookhaven's Whiz Kid

Highlighting the best of Brookhaven's Kids!

  • Collin Reese, 13
  • 8th Grade, St. Martin's Episcopal School

With the new school year firmly underway it is easy to see how Collin Reese, 13, is a standout student at St. Martin's. He not only excels academically, but is a star on stage as well.

He has left his mark all over the Middle School, with awards ranging from the Headmasters List for each semester over the past 2 years, winner of the 7th grade Geography Award, recipient of the Hunter Education Certification, and Student of the Week in both 6th and 7th grades. His musical talents helped him be a part of the Georgia Independent School Association's All Select Middle School Band performance in 2010-2011, an honor for this trombone player.

This talented young man is an active member of the school's Drama Club, performing as Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz, and Randolph in Bye Bye Birdie and still found time to serve as stage manager for Beauty and the Beast. He won a Drama Award in the 5th grade, the Drama Club Leadership Award in the 6th grade, and Drama Club Best All Around this past year.

His mom, Susan Reese, is proud of what her son has accomplished.

"Colling enjoys learning and always doing his best," she said.

With 1 more year of Middle School left we can't wait to see what this remarkable young man will do next!
