Brookhaven's Whiz Kid

When Xiu Xiu Nash, 8, has a goal she puts her all into not only accomplishing it but excelling at it as well. With a schedule packed full of activities from piano to ballet to gymnastics, it is surprising that this rising third grader has time for little else!

Nash has not only performed in a ballet recital with the Atlanta Ballet, she has shown off her talent with the ivory keys by performing two solos during recitals for Peggy Stills Music. 

This competitive gymnast has also represented Tucker Elite Gymnastics in 5 tournaments, placing first in several events, and receiving two trophies for all around highest score in composite gymnastic events. In addition she has helped led her team to a first place finish twice for level two competition!

Gymnastics is not her only high flying activity, as she has performed in a solo recital with the Atlanta Circus Arts Institute in trapeze, tightrope, spanish web and balance board.

With all these extracurricular activities it is easy to overlook the success she has accomplished at school as well! She received a Flying Eagle Award at Ashford Park, and is part of their gifted program.

"We are extremely proud of Xiu Xiu.  She continues to study through the summer," said her mother, Kathy Nash. "She is learning cursive writing, how to type, and first aid.  She likes to cook and wants to learn how to knit."

What an inspiration this 8 year old is!
