Brookhaven MARTA Service Restored

A brush fire caused the temporary termination of service.

Normal MARTA service has been restored after DeKalb County Fire officials controlled a brush fire that started adjacent to the tracks, MARTA officials said Wednesday afternoon.

The fire at the Chamblee station forced the termination of all trains between Brookhaven and Doraville, required shuttle service and alternate bus routes, and caused a complete shut-down of the Chamblee operation, officials said.

MARTA spokesperson Cara Hodgson said no injuries were reported just after 5 p.m. that service has returned to normal.
