Sharpie Moves to Atlanta, brings jobs

Atlanta is now the global home of Sharpie, America’s favorite writing brand and the No. 1 seller in North America.

The marketers behind the iconic Sharpie brand, as well as marketers from Paper Mate, Expo and Prismacolor, will join Newell Rubbermaid’s other consumer brands - Calphalon, Graco, Goody and Levolor at the company’s corporate headquarters at 3 Glenlake Parkway in Sandy Springs. The transition is expected to add about 60 jobs locally.

Sharpie is known for its unique marketing campaigns that have inspired teens to professional artists to uncap their creativity on original art projects and reimage everything from sports cars and motorcycles to coffee cups, backpacks, purses and sneakers.

The brands will share a newly created marketing floor at Newell Rubbermaid’s headquarters, which will be designed to encourage idea generation and sharing, and promote creativity and collaboration.

This shift establishes Atlanta as Newell Rubbermaid’s consumer marketing hub, bringing together the majority of its consumer marketing teams under one roof. That means more fun, more ideas, and more career opportunities for marketers at Newell Rubbermaid – especially in Atlanta. It also supports Newell’s overall business strategy, the Growth Game Plan, as brands position themselves to accelerate growth globally.
