Scenes in Nature: Images Celebrating Its Beauty

Experience nature through the eyes of two Georgia peaches, one born and raised and one transplanted from North Carolina.  A photographic gallery of flowers, landscapes and all things nature on exhibit at the Atlanta-Fulton library, Northside Branch beginning Saturday, August 3rd and running through the month of September.

The photographers behind this exhibit are Judy Garrard and Christy Murray. Judy has lived and worked in Atlanta for 25 years. Although she loves to travel, she  continues to be amazed that there is still so much beauty to be discovered in her native state of Georgia. “No matter where I go, I find inspiration and am compelled to take photographs so that I can share what I have seen with others.” Judy’s primary focus has been nature photography including the traditional landscape but she has also discovered a love for macro photography. She is a member in several local photography clubs, and in less than one year has already participated in several gallery shows. For further information on Judy and her artwork please go to www.judygarrard.com.

Christy Murray (Photography by Ckay) is a native of North Carolina and a resident of Atlanta for over 8 years. Receiving a bachelor’s degree from UNCG in Travel, Tourism and Commercial Recreation, she uses her degree volunteering as a Program Manager with the Brookhaven Arts Alliance.  Christy has only recently started her venture into photography but has had the pleasure of exhibiting in several local gallery shows. As a member and participant in several photography clubs and organizations around town, Christy enjoys learning new techniques, gaining knowledge from veteran photographers and experiencing the joy of photography. Christy specializes in Fine Art Photography drawing inspiration from nature, old cars and architecture. “I find I am drawn to old cars because of the history behind them.  It probably stems from an early childhood desire to grow up and be an archaeologist.”  A website is currently being developed but in the meantime you can follow Photography by Ckay on Facebook. www.facebook.com/Photography.Ckay
