In an e-mail to her constituents this past weekend, Parent said "the financial success of the new city is highly questionable. There are no tax savings, and in fact there will be a tax increase, if the city is created." Parent also endorsed the transportation sales tax referendum, known as T-SPLOST. "Our region has underinvested in transportation infrastructure for decades, and it is an impediment to creating jobs and a threat to our quality of life," she said. UPDATE at 6:32 pm: Commissioner Kathie Gannon's office issued the following statement in regard to BrookhavenYES' ethics complaint against DeKalb County. Her statement concerns Davis Fox, a staffer who engaged in a series of emails with other elected and appointed officials, over the issue of Brookhaven cityhood: "Mr. Fox's title is policy and projects manager. Early voting is still taking place for the July 31 primary at various locations, the most convenient to Brookhaven being Chamblee City Hall. The facility is home to the county's north DeKalb early voting facility, at 5468 Peachtree Road. A total of 12 precincts include the Brookhaven cityhood question.
